This large, unwiedy item does not look like a shield at all but rather a pirce of devris. It was once polished to a mirror sheen, though the pocked reflection it offers to the onlooker is distorted. The shiny surface does not reflect the world around it... at least, not exactly. Instead of conventional insulation, it appears to channel heat and cold into somewhere... else, perhaps the dimension it reflects. Whether this world is inhabited and how its denizens might react to the shield's presence - is yet to be determined.
